English Trainers General English Courses focus on incorporating blended industry-relevant teaching methodology based on each learner's requirements and preferred learning style.  We provide the opportunity for our students to practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English, in addition to lexical resource development, grammar in use, pronunciation, and accent reduction.

Our General English courses are available for young children, teenagers, and adults alike. 

English Trainers has courses that can be designed to deliver a unique learning experience to students of any level, be that a beginner, false beginner, lower or upper-intermediate, or advanced English language user. Students can choose to focus on one or two specific skills or a complete range of language skills. Best of all,  

English Trainers offers 40 years of experience in developing relevant courses to students from extremely large demographic and broad socio-economic backgrounds using carefully chosen course materials from established publishers and complementary materials. We use Present, Practice, and produce methodology, the communicative language approach, and task-based learning to enable our students to maximize the benefits of blended learning strategies.  

• How many hours do I have to learn English before I can speak to people?

Students can study in our English conversation classes for as many hours as needed. Typically students study with our English tutors in 5, 10, 20, and 40-hour blocks. However, should you just need an hour of help before a test, English Trainers is happy to provide that service.  

• Where are the classes held?

English Trainers typically conducts classes at our students' homes, or at our offices conveniently located in the heart of the Sydney CBD.

• What happens if I miss a class?

We understand that unexpected things happen! That's why if we are aware of cancellation prior to the tutor being on the route, we'll happily reschedule the class at no extra cost.

• What happens if I don't like my tutor?

If for any reason you are unhappy with your tutor, English Trainers will provide you with a new tutor, no questions asked!

• Will I improve?

Yes, you will! Our academic team will ensure that you improve by creating a course that addresses your needs. We also have the very best of tutors! 

• Can I study with a friend?

Yes! There is a surcharge of  $25 per additional student.

• How much does private tuition cost?

20 hours or more - $ 77 per hour 

10 - 19 hours  - $80 per hour  

2 -9 hours  $86 per hour 

1 hour - $100 per hour 

All prices includes 10% GST
